The deadline looms in the long, complicated case of San Diego's Mount Soledad war memorial cross. The ACLJ needs your help in order to make the deadline for filing an amicus brief with the California Supreme Court. The court will now decide whether to hear the case or let stand an appeals court ruling in favor of the cross. This means either a new threat to the cross or VICTORY!
Agreeing with the ACLJ's arguments, a three-judge panel of the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals effectively dismissed a 17-year-old lawsuit and a 1991 court order which required city authorities to remove the cross.
The 43-foot-tall cross, erected in the mid-20th century to honor U.S. veterans, has been the target of an atheist's lawsuit for years. With your help today, the end may be in sight. Please stand with Americas war veterans in support of the Mount Soledad cross with your online gift now!
