Let them pray in Jesus name
according to their faith!
It is deeply disturbing to see pressure exerted against our men and women in uniform who simply desire to pray in Jesus name according to their faith. This affront to their religious liberties is an affront to every Christian. It is also a dangerous precedent, one which could lead to broader restrictions on prayer, even for you. So the ACLJ is fighting back!
- Working on this inside the U.S. military; we have already successfully handled a number of cases.
- Supporting H.R. 268, sponsored by Congressman Walter Jones (R-NC), specifying chaplains right to pray according to their faith.
- Calling on President Obama to issue an Executive Order locking in our military chaplains right to pray as they see fit.
- Filing an amicus brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, representing more than 60 Members of Congress and ACLJ members, seeking a reversal of the recent ruling declaring the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional.
- Continuing a nationwide petition campaign giving concerned Americans an opportunity to urge the President and Congress to protect military prayer.
But we need your help! Please stand with us now in opposition to any efforts to silence prayer in Jesus name, both in the military and beyond as we continue all our work for the protection of life and liberty.
A Tax-Deductible gift today will be matched, dollar for dollar, by a group of ACLJ Members. Every $10 gift becomes $20 for the work of the ACLJ.
