Intelligent Design & Evolution
There's an important legal issue that is surfacing in our public schools. Efforts to offer Intelligent Design to students who have been exposed to the teaching of Evolution are being challenged in court. We are following legal developments in this area very closely -- litigation is underway in Georgia and Pennsylvania. We will be filing briefs in these critical cases.
Now the issue is spilling over into the "court of public opinion." I have written an opinion editorial that is being published in newspapers across the country. It is posted in the Commentary section of our website. In this article, I make the argument that Intelligent Design should be offered to students in public schools and that there is no constitutional problem in doing so. In fact, I point out that there is growing evidence from some of the most respected scholars and scientists in the world that an intelligent creator was responsible for the origin of our wonderful universe. We will continue to see more interest in this topic - more lawsuits - and more discussion in the public arena.
I want to let you know about some exciting television programming. Many of you seen our weekly television broadcast, ACLJ this Week, which airs on several networks around the country. On this broadcast, I focus on the issues that matter most to you and your family and we include important discussions with our attorneys and members of Congress. I am happy to report that we continue to expand our reach with new distribution outlets. If you haven't seen it, check it out. Also, if you and your family are looking for entertainment for young people - or the young at heart - check out my son's new program, The Logan Show. He's put together a great late night program that features a wide variety of comedy and highlights some of today's most popular musical guests.
