With Congress returning to Washington from its Easter break, it won't be long before the issue of judicial filibusters is back on the front burner.

I was on several conference calls this morning discussing strategy to encourage the leadership of the U.S. Senate to take the action needed to change the rules and eliminate the use of the judicial filibuster - a tactic that prevents President Bush's judicial nominees from receiving an up-or-down vote on the Senate floor.

There will be much discussion about this issue in the weeks to come.  I want to let you know that I will continue to push for this rules change and urge you to read our legal memo prepared for the Senate on this very topic.
