Expedited Supreme Court Case
The Supreme Court of the United States is poised to hear the highly pivotal case of Hein v. Freedom From Religion Foundation, which challenges President Bush's faith-based initiative program. These church-state separation advocates have not been injured in any way - they simply have free reign to bring Establishment Clause lawsuits just because they are "taxpayers." No citizen should have the ability to sue just because he or she pays taxes, and it should be the same in religion cases. The Supreme Court of the United States has an opportunity to STOP these plaintiffs in their tracks once and for all.
In our amicus brief due to the Supreme Court today, we will assert that no federal taxpayer suits are allowed in any other context aside from Establishment Clause suits challenging federal spending. The ACLJ will continue to fight for your religious rights and freedoms. We will not give up in this Supreme Court battle, and we urge you to stand strong with us as well. Your generous gift today will help us make an impact on our nation for years to come.
