(Washington, DC) The American Center for Law and Justice said today it is gratified that more than 100,000 Americans have signed on to the ACLJ Proclamation for Solidarity with Israel which urges President Bush to stand firm and support Israel during this time of war.

This is an extremely important time in the Middle East and it is very encouraging that so many people understand the need to show their support for the embattled nation of Israel, said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ.  As Americans watch this war unfold in the Middle East, it is critical to show support for our friend our ally our partner in peace Israel.  True freedom and peace can only arise after the terrorist infrastructure has been eliminated.  And, we support Israel in its efforts to do just that.  Israel has every right to defend itself against terrorist organizations that have vowed to eliminate the nation of Israel.  While these are extremely dangerous and difficult times, we stand with Israel and support their fight against terrorism and we encourage President Bush and the U.S. government to stand firm in its support of Israel.

The ACLJ says it has received more than 100,000 signatures on its Proclamation for Solidarity with Israel and continues to update the White House and Israeli officials.

The ACLJ also has produced a number of legal memos that focus on Israel's right to defend itself against terrorist organizations that have pledged to eliminate the nation of Israel.

Led by Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, the American Center for Law and Justice focuses on constitutional law and is based in Washington, D.C.
