(Washington, DC) - The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which focuses on constitutional law, said today it is disappointed that the latest round of legal appeals to reinsert the feeding tube for Terri Schiavo have failed.  Within a matter of hours, both the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States rejected appeals in the case.

It is very disappointing that this latest round of legal appeals did not succeed," said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ, which represented Bob and Mary Schindler Terris parents at the Supreme Court in their efforts to defend the previous Florida legislation that was declared unconstitutional.  There were very important legal issues raised in these appeals including arguments that the federal judiciary clearly made a mistake in failing to examine fully the facts in this case as called for by the federal legislation passed and signed into law.  It appears that all legal options have now been exhaused.  Our prayers remain with Terri and her family during this extremely difficult time."

Led by Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, the American Center for Law and Justice specializes in constitutional law and the protection of human life and is based in Washington, D.C.
