If you have ever wondered what pro-abortion forces are afraid of, it is in large part a lot of the work of the ACLJ and the voice of our members.

In a recent anti-life email, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards lamented:

It seems like every day there is a new attack on women's access to reproductive health care [i.e. abortion]. We've seen House Republican leadership try to bar Planned Parenthood health centers from providing preventive health care through programs like Medicaid [i.e. legislation to defund Planned Parenthood]. We've seen state after state impose cruel new burdens on women seeking abortion care [i.e. state restrictions on abortion and protections for women’s health]. And just last week, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow hospitals to let women die, rather than provide lifesaving abortion care [i.e. the Protect Life Act].

The ACLJ has been hard at work defending the lives of the unborn, from supporting legislation in Congress to defund Planned Parenthood’s abortion business, to supporting stricter state regulations on abortion clinics which will not only save countless children’s lives but also the health of many women. Most recently, the ACLJ, with the overwhelming support of our members, supported the Protect Life Act. This bill, which prevents federal funds from being used for abortions under ObamaCare and protects the conscience rights of health care providers, overwhelmingly passed the House of Representatives with bipartisan support.

If there is any question about Planned Parenthood’s mission and its support for ObamaCare, the answer is clear and decisive from Planned Parenthoods own president, “to protect women’s access to coverage for abortion.” That is their mission, plain and simple.

Now, there is another important opportunity to defeat this pro-abortion agenda. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is considering public comments to its ObamaCare rules concerning abortion coverage under qualified health insurance plans. Planned Parenthood is urging pro-abortion forces to push for full coverage for abortions under these plans. Have your voice heard on this matter, and submit your comments to HSS urging them to follow federal law and prevent any taxpayer funding for abortions and health insurance plans that cover abortions.

The ACLJ will continue to fight for the rights of the unborn and to ensure that no tax dollars are used to commit abortions.
