“It’s Bad”: Democrats Scared Ahead of Midterm Elections
President Biden’s approval rating has hit an all-time low of 40%, according to an NBC News poll. And as a result, we are starting to see a Democrat meltdown as we enter midterm election season. The driving forces of this low approval rating are inflation and high gas prices.
A Democrat strategist even admitted these approval ratings are bad:
It’s bad. You have an energy crisis that’s paralyzing, and inflation is at a 40-year high, and we’re heading into a recession. The problem is simple. The American people have lost confidence in him.
In order to combat the high gas prices, President Biden ordered the release of United States oil reserves. The Biden Administration is also trying to initiate a trucking action plan in order to combat the supply chain issues that have created record inflation in our country. Is this all too little too late though? ACLJ Director of Policy Harry Hutchison gave his take on these moves by the Biden Administration:
The Biden Administration has made a fundamental mistake. They believe that releasing fuel from the strategic petroleum reserve will offset a lot of their bad policy initiatives which began on day one when the Biden Administration took over. They gave up U.S. energy independence. They shut down the Keystone pipeline. They gave Europe and Russia permission to restart Nord Stream. So, at the end of the day, I am surprised that his low poll numbers are actually so high given the Administration’s commitment to incompetence. Just as the Biden weakness with respect to Afghanistan and Ukraine has basically incentivized dictators and terrorists, I believe . . . his trucking summit basically is a sign of weakness. Why do we need a trucking summit when the Biden Administration has engaged in over 70 actions which impair the trucking industry? And when the Biden Administration fails to fundamentally understand that the way to move trucking forward at least right now is to stop inflation and to lower fuel prices by recovering U.S. energy independence.
As we wait for the midterms, the ACLJ has been winning internationally. Through our office in Pakistan, we were able to rescue a Christian family who were forced into bonded labor. ACLJ Senior Counsel CeCe Heil joined Sekulow to discuss this victory:
The way that they actually got into this situation was it was Abbas, who is our client, who had a brother that worked for this Muslim cattle farmer. And apparently, he borrowed some money from him. And then Abbas’ brother who was working for this cattle farmer died two years ago. So, what does a cattle farmer do? He goes and abducts Abbas – and his wife and six children – to now come work for him, forced to be working for him to pay off this supposed loan that was not paid off.
CeCe added:
So, Abbas’s wife and the three children that she was able to get out of the six came to our office and told us the situation and our attorneys there immediately filed a writ of habeas corpus which means bring the body before the judge. The judge immediately ordered the police to go out and rescue Abbas and the remaining three children, which the police did, and they were brought before the judge in the court and then we were able to argue . . . because of the bonded labor act . . . it is completely illegal. So, we were able to rescue Abbas and the remaining three children. . . . And we did it over two days.
The scope of the work of the ACLJ is evident in this case and our presence in Washington, D.C. to be able to bring you analysis from our office on Capitol Hill all the way to our office in Pakistan.
