Radio Recap: Big Win for Life in New York

There are few better ways to start a new week than with an unprecedented win for life.

On today’s broadcast we discussed our major win against pro-abortion New York City in a Manhattan hearing room, in front of a New York judge, where we presented such a strong case defending embattled pro-life pregnancy centers, that the city had no option but to withdraw its own case.

New York has proven itself to be an abortion-friendly city, relentlessly harassing and intimidating pro-life pregnancy centers.

Just last week, we told you the City of New York has been abusing and misusing its disclaimer regulations to attempt to fine and litigate pro-life pregnancy centers out of business.  This time the City of New York brought bogus charges against our client for supposedly violating these absurd requirements.

We took on the case, and appeared with witnesses ready to testify that this case was meritless, but it turned out we didn’t even need them. The city was totally unprepared to refute our legal arguments or back up its own claims, and literally folded, walking away from its own case.

The significance of this victory – beating New York in New York – is beyond measure. It cannot be overstated. We’ve been litigating this issue for ten years. Perseverance truly pays off.

Big wins in tough battlegrounds like this would absolutely not be possible without the unwavering support of ACLJ members.

And, believe me, this battle isn’t over. The abortion lobby will not take this lying down. They view these pro-life centers as competition. The City of New York will go back to the drawing board and figure out some new way to attack pro-life centers and push their abortion agenda.

But we when they do, we will be ready.

We also gave you an update on the growing situation along our southern border with Mexico. The U.S. is gearing up for what is reported to be a “record number” of migrants headed for our border. As many as 178,000 people are expected to enter our country in one way or another this year. That’s four-times last year’s number.

This is why we need to build a physical barrier to stem this massive influx from illegally flooding our border. The wall will enable us to process immigrants properly, and know who is entering our country.

Without it, we could be inundated with almost 200,000 undocumented migrants, whose names, associations, and criminal records we simply don’t know.
