The ACLJ is in week 3 of a trial involving Planned Parenthood. Earlier this week, a Planned Parenthood abortionist testified under oath that they had stated they wanted a Lamborghini in exchange for babies’ body parts.

On today’s Jay Sekulow Live, we discussed the updates regarding the trial involving Planned Parenthood and also touched on the ridiculous new additions to the U.N. Human Rights Council.

The Planned Parenthood abortionist claimed that the statement about wanting a Lamborghini was a joke, but at best, it was in disgustingly bad taste. What they were saying was they wanted lots of money in exchange for babies’ body parts.

There’s also a piece up on our website that gets into a lot more detail.

It looks like this is going to be about a six-week trial. The admissions coming out by Planned Parenthood are breathtaking in scope, specifically as it relates to issues that they did not want raised in the proceedings.

They did not want the illegality that was being investigated by the undercover reporters involving the sale of fetal body parts brought up. They did not want to mention what was on some of these tapes.

What’s so ironic about all of this is Planned Parenthood’s own lawyers opened the door. What that means legally is they set forth a series of questions and because of those questions what happens is now the door is opened to follow-up questions that raise the issues they did not want brought up. It would be a violation of due process to try to defend a case to not involve statements that are on videos which are now public.

In this specific case, the judge had said they didn’t want any discussion of illegality on Planned Parenthood’s behalf. They themselves opened the door by asking a series of questions that were in essence, “Why did you do these videos? Why were they done?” The person answered, saying essentially because we thought they were engaging in illegal conduct.

This started four years ago, with the Center for Medical Progress releasing videos that showed the abortionist negotiating for the sale of baby body parts, joking that they wanted a Lamborghini in exchange. The Lamborghini didn’t necessarily mean a car, just enough money to buy one. This is a business and a sick one. On camera they were bragging about the revenue generated by the sale of babies’ body parts.

Planned Parenthood’s whole goal has been to shut down these videos. On Friday, October 4th, Planned Parenthood really screwed up. We’ll keep you updated as this case continues.

We also touched on the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) elections. Libya, and Venezuela – unstable countries with horrendous human rights records were added to the U.N. HRC. That’s insane.

Christophe Folzenlogel from our affiliate the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ) joined us on the show. We discussed how the United States pulled out of the U.N. Human Rights Council in 2018 for two reasons. The first was to remove U.S. funding from all the anti-Israel things the HRC was doing or trying to do. The second was that the Human Rights Council made a rule that a two-thirds vote by its members was needed in order to remove a country that is engaging in human rights violations. In other words, it is essentially impossible, given the makeup of the Council, to remove bad actor countries.

We will keep you updated regarding this trial and other issues. The ACLJ will never stop fighting for the rights of the unborn and for human rights around the globe.
