Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards has added her voice to the choir of pro-abortion Obama Administration allies calling for an immediate hearing for President Obama’s nominee to fill the late Justice Antonin Scalia's seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.

After calling President Obama's nominee "an intelligent, highly accomplished judge," the abortion giant’s CEO reiterated the White House's trite talking points.

The Washington Times reports:

“Now that the president has upheld his constitutional duty, it is time for the Senate to uphold theirs,” she said. “The American people deserve a full court and a justice appointed by the president they elected for four years — not three. It is time for the Senate to do their job and give Judge Garland a fair hearing and up or down vote.”

None of this is surprising. In fact, moments after the announcement in the Rose Garden, Planned Parenthood’s CEO was seen entering the White House.

Was Richards discussing the Supreme Court nomination battle with the Obama Administration so she could get on message about the ensuing political battle? Was she getting confirmation that President Obama’s nominee would be a trusted abortion advocate on the Supreme Court? It’s impossible to know, but one thing is clear – Planned Parenthood and its abortion allies are going to bat for President Obama’s nominee because they know the stakes are high.  And they know President Obama has been their “champion” for abortion time and time again.

Just as we've argued since the vacancy opened up, the American people deserve a voice in selecting our next Supreme Court justice.  Not the abortion lobby and anti-life special interests – the American people.

Contrary to what President Obama and other Democrats are saying now, they have actually agreed with us in the past, because historical precedent and the constitutional principles reiterate that while the President is free to nominate, the Senate is free to take any, all, or no action on that nomination.

Of course now, the White House and its pro-abortion allies are insisting otherwise.

But we know there is too much at stake to play political games with the nomination of our next Supreme Court justice.

Justices of the Supreme Court will quite literally hold the life and liberty of the American people in their hands.  Far too many cases involving common-sense pro-life laws, religious liberty, and pro-life free speech, hang in the balance for the American people not to have their voice heard about what kind of justice they support for this lifetime appointment.

There is so much at stake. The Senate must not hold any hearings and defer to the American people until after the elections for President and one-third of the Senate this November.

Take action with us and sign out petition.  The lives of the unborn are at stake.
