President Obama: Planned Parenthood’s “Champion” for Abortion
If there is any question as to why Planned Parenthood is actively promoting President Obama, the answer is simply this: President Obama has done more for Planned Parenthood and their pro-abortion agenda in his nearly 4 years in office than almost anyone.
The abortion giant’s president, Cecile Richards, said of Obama, “I’ve been working with this administration for the last three years on getting women better health care access [i.e. abortion, abortion funding, and mandated abortion-pill coverage] in a whole host of ways.”
Time and time again, President Obama has not only stood with Planned Parenthood, he has done everything within his power to advance their cause. As he once famously stated of abortion, "On this fundamental issue, I will not yield and Planned Parenthood will not yield."
Time and time again, President Obama has come to the aid of the largest abortion provider in America. Here are just a few examples:
One of President Obama’s first acts as President was to overturn the Mexico City Policy, which had prevented taxpayer dollars from funding foreign abortions. Planned Parenthood is now a major recipient of these funds.
Not only did he push the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade, ObamaCare, through Congress, he threatened to veto legislation to prevent ObamaCare from funding abortions.
President Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) imposed the abortion-pill mandate, forcing employers to cover abortion pills in their health insurance plans. Interestingly, Planned Parenthood dispenses more than 1.4 million of these abortion pills each year.
And who was at the table when President Obama crafted the HHS mandate and subsequent religious liberty “accommodation,” Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry – not religious leaders.
President Obama has also imposed a monthly abortion surcharge on American’s health insurance plans, from which the largest provider of abortions in America stands to gain.
When Planned Parenthood was backed into a corner after being exposed supporting sex selection abortions, President Obama came to their aid and helped kill a bill in Congress that would have outlawed this horrific act.
The strongest examples of President Obama’s unwavering support of Planned Parenthood can be seen through the extreme steps his Administration has taken to ensure that Planned Parenthood does not lose a dime of its taxpayer funding.
Every time Congress has considered cutting spending by defunding the half billion dollars a year Planned Parenthood receives from taxpayers, President Obama has threatened to veto the measures, even if it meant shutting down the federal government.
Even more extreme, he has not only taken a side in how states should choose to spend their own money, but he has gone against the express will of the people in those states to ensure that Planned Parenthood remains fully funded. Consider this analysis from LifeNews.com:

Just this week, when New Jersey Governor Chris Christie refused to fund Planned Parenthood, the Obama Administration quickly awarded Planned Parenthood affiliates in New Jersey $3.1 million dollars in federal taxpayer money.
To Planned Parenthood, President Obama is not just a friend in the White House; he is their “champion” for the pro-abortion agenda.
