ObamaCare

The Obama Administration has rewritten ObamaCare again. Millions of Americans lost their health insurance because of ObamaCare, so now the President is saying they aren't subject to the Individual Mandate. This is cold comfort to those left without insurance – in danger of financial ruin if they get sick.

The Obama Administrations latest delay/rewrite/waver will allow those who have had their insurance plans canceled to obtain a “hardship exemption” and be eligible for catastrophic coverage.

The Administration said in a statement released late last night, “This is a common sense clarification of the law.”

This is once again Orwellian Newspeak for the Obama Administration’s latest attempt to entirely rewrite ObamaCare to correct a problem inherent in ObamaCare that the Obama Administration previously attempted to coverup (and won “Lie of the Year” for it’s efforts).

In order to even claim any legal authority for issuing this broad exemption from the mandate, the Administration is admitting, by law, that “there is no affordable qualified health plan available” to the millions of individuals for whom it intentionally canceled their plans.

As ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow stated:

“As millions of Americans continue to lose health insurance coverage because of ObamaCare, this latest maneuver does nothing to right a sinking ship and further proves ObamaCare is unworkable and fatally flawed.  This is just another example of how the Obama Administration is grasping at straws to save a program that doesn’t work. The Obama Administration should exempt all Americans from ObamaCare’s individual mandate without further delay.”

And as ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow added:

“Once again, the Obama Administration is changing the law in an attempt to fix the unfixable. The fact is this latest exemption really represents a strong admission that ObamaCare is failing. Americans now realize the problems with ObamaCare go far beyond a website that doesn’t work. This latest change will make a bad situation even worse. It will result in more chaos, higher insurance rates for everyone, and does nothing to stop the continuing loss of coverage for millions of Americans because of ObamaCare.”

And that’s exactly right.  Its time for this Administration to stop picking and choosing winners and losers, who gets an exemption and who gets penalized.  Everyone deserves an exemption from ObamaCare; it’s the only fair thing to do.  Now is the time to ditch this Titanic law before it takes down one sixth of our economy, our religious liberty, and the American dream with it.
