(Washington, DC) - The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which is legally challenging ObamaCare, said today the latest exemption issued by the Obama Administration proves ObamaCare is “unworkable and fatally flawed.”

“As millions of Americans continue to lose health insurance coverage because of ObamaCare, this latest maneuver does nothing to right a sinking ship and further proves ObamaCare is unworkable and fatally flawed,” said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ. “This is just another example of how the Obama Administration is grasping at straws to save a program that doesn’t work. The Obama Administration should exempt all Americans from ObamaCare’s individual mandate without further delay.”

In an 11th hour move, the Obama Administration announced that it is changing the rules of the individual mandate to clear the way for hundreds of thousands of Americans who have lost coverage and can’t afford a new plan to qualify for a “hardship exemption” which would exempt those individuals from financial penalties facing Americans that don’t purchase a health plan next year.

Further, the Obama Administration said it would permit those individuals to purchase bare-bones “catastrophic” coverage plans that until now were available only for people under 30.

ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow added: “Once again, the Obama Administration is changing the law in an attempt to fix the unfixable. The fact is this latest exemption really represents a strong admission that ObamaCare is failing. Americans now realize the problems with ObamaCare go far beyond a website that doesn’t work. This latest change will make a bad situation even worse. It will result in more chaos, higher insurance rates for everyone, and does nothing to stop the continuing loss of coverage for millions of Americans because of ObamaCare.”

The ACLJ represents numerous businesses challenging the HHS mandate in federal court. And, now with Americans facing financial penalties early next year for a product that they can’t obtain, the ACLJ is exploring litigation strategy that will seek to protect Americans from unconstitutional penalties imposed by the Obama Administration.

Led by Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), focusing on constitutional law, is based in Washington, D.C.

Any Wonder ObamaCare Funds Abortion?

By Matthew Clark1418398462910

After his “glib” apology before Congress this week for calling the American people “stupid,” ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber attempted to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and … dodge every substantive question that came his way. He refused to answer even the simplest questions like how much ( millions )

Abortion Distortion in Obamacare

By Nathanael Bennett1417634863942

From day one, we have warned that the real danger of Obamacare is not in the 2,700 pages of its text (as bad as they are), but in the hundreds of thousands of pages of rules and regulations that would flow out of that text. This week provides yet another example of that danger, and it is in the...

Stimulus & ObamaCare “A Mistake”

By Matthew Clark1417020813934

Yesterday, liberal Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer lambasted Democrats for the political failure of both ObamaCare and the stimulus. While he certainly has not changed his core belief that government can solve all the people’s ills (and said as much), he slammed his party for its political failures.

Obama Admin Grubered Americans

By Matthew Clark1416595737305

The lesson we learn from Jonathan Gruber (the MIT professor turned high-paid ObamaCare architect who admitted the Administration deceived the public to pass ObamaCare) is that the Obama Administration will do or say anything to prop up ObamaCare. You know the litany of lies (you can keep you plan,
