What lies ahead in the Middle East as tensions escalate? “Squad” Member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI-12) condemned President Joe Biden’s decision to send more troops to the region amid Israel’s plan for a ground operation (or what Tlaib calls a “genocidal campaign”) in Lebanon. Also, Iran has vowed revenge after the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. How will the Biden-Harris Administration respond to the worsening conflict in the Middle East?

So amid all the chaos that’s happening in the Middle East, Rep. Tlaib has decided that now is the time to stand up for the terrorist organization Hezbollah. On top of that, her hypercritical statement openly blamed the sitting President and Vice President for furthering genocide.

It will be interesting to see what kind of pushback – if any – that Tlaib receives from other members of her party just weeks before a presidential election. Kamala must win Michigan and somehow thread the needle to win over Tlaib’s radical supporters without isolating other Michigan voters.

Iran’s proxy Hezbollah is one of Israel’s deadliest foes, as was seen when the terrorist organization struck an Israeli playground and killed several young people and children. Since that attack, Israel has wiped out much of Hezbollah’s chain of command with rockets and missiles. And who can forget Israel’s strategic use of explosive pagers and walkie-talkies from a couple of weeks ago?

Israel took out its latest major target, Nasrallah, in an airstrike in Beirut on Friday that reached his bunker 60 feet underground. This elusive Hezbollah leader, who was in power for 32 years, was also responsible for hundreds of American deaths, prompting Biden to say that Nasrallah’s death was “a measure of justice for his many victims” – including all the Israelis who had died at his hands. The prevailing opinion appears to be that the world is better off without this murderer in power.

Unsurprisingly, many pro-Hamas supporters are mourning the death of Nasrallah. However, on Saturday the New York Times published an op-ed titled “Protestors Mourn Nasrallah’s Death Around the World” that celebrated the murderous terrorist for being a “gifted orator” who “maintained that there should be one Palestine with equality for Muslims, Jews and Christians.” Why are we subjected to these weird apologies from the mainstream media whenever a major terrorist is killed?

ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon reacted to the heartfelt obituary in the New York Times for Nasrallah:

It makes me want to see an obituary for the New York Times. That publication has turned so foul – evil is good, and good is evil. And Nasrallah was a purely evil person . . . dedicated to one thing and one thing only: the genocide of the Jews. In the process of that, he trampled Christian Lebanon into obliteration essentially, a country that was once the most beautiful place on the Mediterranean, a magnificent country where all faiths lived together in peace. And they came in there as Iranian proxies, and they destroyed life, made it miserable for everybody. . . . The New York Times has been consistent in its campaign of incitement against the existence of not just Israel but also against Jews – even in America. [It] is known for hiding news about violent antisemitism [and] for praising those who are the enemies of the Jews. It’s a terrible publication.

We must not forget why Israel is justly defending itself. Israel’s war in the Middle East began almost a year ago, on October 7, after 1,200 Israeli men, women, and children were brutally murdered. And Hamas still has Israeli and American hostages who still need to be freed.

The ACLJ remains a steadfast ally of Israel. We are preparing to make two critical oral interventions to the U.N. in Geneva this week to defend Israel’s right to exist. You can join us at the U.N. to defend Israel by signing our petition.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s ridiculous support for terrorists after Israel killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
