This is the latest installment in a year-end series looking back at a few of the numerous victories by the ACLJ in 2017.

The ACLJ secured a massive and resounding federal court victory in the most significant U.S. federal court case in defense of Israel’s legitimacy as a Jewish state that we’ve ever undertaken.

In 2016, a group of Palestinian activists, backed by known terrorists, filed a $34.5 billion dollar lawsuit in federal court against numerous organizations that support the State of Israel. Essentially, their 200-page complaint was an attempt to litigate the very existence of the State of Israel in an attempt to delegitimize it.

Our client is an established charity dedicated to defending the history and people of Gush Etzion which includes dozens of Israeli cities, towns, and villages near Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Our client’s only “wrongdoing” was that they have supported, and continue to support, the Jewish State of Israel.

In the face of absurd claims and false accusations, the ACLJ sent a senior team of lawyers to defend against these claims in federal court. In the end, a federal district court agreed with our legal arguments and dismissed the case.

Even with this clear and momentous victory, similar lawsuits under similar conspiracy theories are threatening Israel once again. Your support helps us take on these homogenous threats as we have filed motions on behalf of yet another client, and ultimately in defense of Israel and their legitimacy as a Jewish state. Now, as this case moves to federal appeals court, we will continue aggressively fighting to defend Israel’s interests against these baseless attempts to undermine and delegitimize Israel.

To help the ACLJ continue to have the resources we need to make these victories possible and continue these fights, please consider making a Tax-Deductible donation to the ACLJ through our year-end Matching Challenge. Your gift will be DOUBLED dollar-for-dollar through the end of the year.
