WHAT? Vice President Harris Claims Border Crisis Is ACTUALLY a “Climate” Crisis

Just when you thought President Biden’s border crisis couldn’t get any worse, the Administration proves that it can. On NBC’s TODAY, journalist Craig Melvin pointed out to President Biden:

In April alone, 170,000 people – migrants – apprehended at the border. It’s a  20-year record. There are 22,000 unaccompanied children in our country right now. That’s a record. That sounds to most folks like a crisis.

President Biden is not the only one ignoring the humanitarian nightmare at our border. Vice President Harris was tasked with solving this crisis and yet she refuses to even go to the scene. Instead of calling it what it is, which is a humanitarian crisis, she is now politicizing the situation at the border, blaming it on a “climate” crisis. VP Harris said:

First: the acute factors. The catastrophes that are causing people to leave right now. The hurricanes, the drought, and the extreme food insecurity. And then there are the long-standing issues. The root causes: And I’m thinking of corruption, violence, and poverty, the lack of economic opportunity, the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience, the lack of good governance.

ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell gave a rebuttal in response to the Vice President blaming climate change for the crisis at the border:

Vice President Harris should have just stopped after her fourth one. Corruption, economic hardships, and poverty – those are all legitimate reasons. But when she goes to the next level that politicizes the border crisis – and let’s make it very clear what is happening with this Biden Administration is that the far Left woke policies are immediately coming in and infiltrating the cabinet secretaries and this is politicizing our policies . . . . Now, we see it from the Vice President of the United States who is turning the border crisis into an issue of climate change. That is crazy. Only in Washington, D.C., does this go over. Everyone else on the outside of Washington, D.C., is like what are you talking about? This is the reality of what happens in Washington, D.C.

Since Vice President Harris and President Biden aren’t stepping up, some Members of Congress are. There are some concrete solutions in Washington, D.C., right now. Specifically, the End Child Trafficking Now Act introduced by Senator Marsha Blackburn (TN) to require DNA border testing to deter child trafficking when adults attempt to pose as a parent or relative to a minor. Additionally, Congresswoman Yvette Herrell (NM) introduced the Pause Act to put the COVID protocols back at the border to prevent the introduction of new cases. And as we told you, the bipartisan bill introduced by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Senator Krysten Sinema (D-AZ) to authorize resources to address surge capacities and reinstate former President Trump’s policy on asylum. These are all real solutions that should be passed immediately to end this humanitarian crisis.

Here’s what our Senior Advisor Ric Grenell thinks ultimately needs to happen:

First of all, I want our listeners to understand that the American people are the most generous people in the world. 1 million people a year become U.S. citizens, and we welcome those people. But 100 million people want to come in; we have to have rules. The solution is: Follow the law, follow the rules, don’t jump the line, and don’t be a cheater. We have a great system in place, so follow the rules.

It is clear the Biden Administration does not have control of the border. They are trying to derive another political narrative by calling it a “climate” crisis. We won’t allow them to spin the truth to the American people. We submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs & Border Protection, U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, and U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services to find out what actions are being taken to stop what is going on at our Southern border. There has been no response, so we are going to court likely next week over this issue.
