In a traumatic, but by no means all that surprising display, it is now being reported that desperate parents in Afghanistan are being forced to SELL THEIR DAUGHTERS. This because the Taliban was able to seize complete control of Afghanistan and institute its own sadistic form of Shariah law due to the incompetence of the Biden Administration.

As Afghanistan was collapsing into sheer chaos, we told you about reports of Taliban members going door to door, searching for Christians to kill and for young unmarried women and girls to take as child brides.

Now CNN is reporting that families are being forced to sell their daughters just to eat and survive. One heartbroken father profiled in the report was forced to sell his NINE-YEAR-OLD little girl to a 55-year-old man for the equivalent of roughly $2,200.

The young girl’s father:

felt “broken” with guilt, shame and worry over giving away his daughter, but ultimately he believed that he had no choice but to go through with the sale.

He said that he had already borrowed “lots of money” from relatives and looked unsuccessfully for employment, while his wife had resorted to begging for food.

It’s beyond heartbreaking. As a parent, to even consider being placed in such a predicament is unbearable. Yet it appears this is not a new practice in Afghanistan under the harsh rule of the Taliban. It is just one that had been beaten back, along with the Taliban, while U.S. forces were in the region. Now the Taliban is free to impose its rule of terror once again, and it appears they’re starting by destabilizing families.

As stated in one report:

Child marriage has been practiced in Afghanistan for centuries, but war and . . . poverty have driven many families to resort to striking deals earlier and earlier in girls’ lives.

And it is no mere coincidence that the practice of selling young girls has increased since August – the same month that the Taliban took control of the war-torn nation after President Biden’s disastrous removal of U.S. military forces. According to another report, this time by the New York Post:

[M]any Afghan families have struggled to afford basic necessities since the Taliban takeover in August.

“Day by day, the numbers are increasing of families selling their children,” human rights activist Mohammad Naiem Nazem told CNN. “Lack of food, lack of work, the families feel they have to do this.”

As we previously shared with you, ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell warned that this behavior is exactly why the Taliban should never be legitimized:

It is horrific and it is a return to what they used to do. . . . Now that the Taliban is in charge, we need to be clear eyed that this is not an international group that needs to be recognized. We see already that the Europeans are making moves to tell the Biden Administration to recognize the Taliban and treat them like a legitimate government. Now, they’ve taken over the government, but they are not a legitimate government. We should never recognize them no matter what the pressure is like from the Europeans, the Russians, or the Chinese.

This is yet another tragedy born of President Biden’s careless and hasty removal of our troops from Afghanistan before taking necessary steps to secure the region. The Biden Administration abandoned Afghan Christians, women and girls, and even left American citizens stranded in the unstable country. Remember, we even reported that the Biden Administration actually gave the Taliban the names of Afghan allies who had aided the United States. Who would even consider giving that information to a dangerous enemy, knowing full well what they would likely do.

We’ve already told you about reports of Taliban atrocities being committed almost daily, including attacks on Christians and women:

Christians are singled out in house-to-house searches and executed, as is anyone who worked for the U.S. and its allies. Reports of atrocities are coming in daily. A pregnant Afghan policewoman was stabbed to death in front of her family, before the Taliban killed all of them, too.

It is impossible to predict what the future of Afghanistan will be, but it’s not likely to be pretty. It certainly won’t be a safe, democratic country . . . especially not for Christians, U.S. allies, or women. And President Biden must be held accountable for his role in this disaster.

We’ve already filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to expose President Biden’s inept Afghanistan strategy and what he’d been told before hastily removing our troops and triggering an all-out human rights disaster.
