The Left in Congress Give 80 Billion MORE Reasons to Despise the IRS

I know it may seem hard to believe, but the Left just gave us even more reasons to despise the IRS . . . over $80 BILLION in reasons.

The Wall Street Journal said the IRS is switching into “beast mode.” But the Left is calling it the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. That title should get them flagged on every social media platform as false or misleading information.

The Left has somehow determined that it needs to drop a tax-hike that will impact working class Americans so that it can increase the size and strength of the IRS – an agency we already know plays politics and targets innocent Americans that don’t agree with its political agenda.

To that end, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Joe Manchin have proposed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, calling for an additional $8 billion in funding to the IRS per year over ten years, adding some 87,000 new agents, and over 1 million more audits. The tax-and-spend-Left wants to DOUBLE this reviled agency already considered by many to be the most institutionally corrupt in the Federal Government.

They’re going to give the IRS what could amount to more than $80 BILLION  to bring on new agents and new equipment to bulk up what is already a Deep State government behemoth. Mind you, if you knew the type of “technology” the IRS is still working with – snail mail, fax machines, for all we know rotary phones and an abacus, etc. – you might agree that the agency could use some funding in order to join the rest of us in the 21st century, especially when they’re handling so much sensitive information. It also begs the question, what sort of anti-hacking system does the archaic IRS currently have in place?

ACLJ Senior Counsel Andy Ekonomou summed up the alarming realities of the Deep State IRS and this latest ploy to beef up the agency:

The IRS is still stuck, you said 1980’s, 1970’s, but they’re still stuck in the middle ages as far as digitalization and the proper handling of tax returns and the proper handling of relations with taxpayers. You have to pay your check to the tax authorities by the U.S. Mail. Good luck if it ever gets from Atlanta to Charlotte or wherever you’re sending it to. But here now instead of modernizing the equipment that you need to have in order to deal with the proper collection of revenue, you’re earmarking $45.6 billion dollars to litigate, criminally investigate, investigative technology – everything investigative by the way, remember that – digital asset monitoring, and they’re going to give them a bunch of new cars so they can go out and get the money from you and load it up into the trunk of the car, I guess that’s what the purpose of that is.

The reality is what the IRS needs to do in 2022 is streamline, not beef up. We need less inept bureaucracy not more. But this so-called Inflation Reduction Act will reportedly add on 87,000 new IRS agents and “will be able to perform 1.2 million additional audits.” Think about that, another million plus audits. And when this happens, who do you think all these additional agents will be instructed to investigate? Biden donors? People who gave money to Planned Parenthood? Good luck.

This is another ploy for the Biden Administration to weaponize the IRS to target political enemies at the expense of U.S. taxpayers – some of whom they’ll be investigating.

Andy Ekonomou went on to break down the real numbers and who they’re really coming for:

78 – 90%, think about that, of the money that they’re planning to raise from underreported income is going to come from those making less than $200,000 a year. Only 4 – 9% if going to come from those making $500,000 or more. So what they are targeting here is YOU, the middle class taxpayer. The person that has a subchapter S business, that is out there working, day by day, trying to make a living. Not that they need more money. Their tax receipts were up 25% in the first nine months of fiscal ’22, after rising 18% in fiscal ’21. So tax receipts are up. What do you need the money for? . . . You’re not starving for revenue, but you can’t control your appetite for spending. You want money. You want to spend. The Democrats have never seen a tax they didn’t love. That’s why the IRS has gone into its “beast mode.”

This isn’t some kind of conservative paranoia. We know firsthand what the unfettered Deep State IRS did under the Obama-Biden Administration. Remember, the ACLJ took the Obama-Biden IRS to federal court and won, forcing them to admit the rogue agency was targeting conservatives. We made the IRS apologize to the American people for the agency’s intolerable corruption.

But that was then. Now President Biden is in the White House, and apparently the Left thinks we’ve all forgotten the despicable targeting, the harassment, and the mistreatment of conservatives for nothing more than their personal beliefs. Actually the Left is worse than that – they target you for what they decide you believe. And it looks like they’re trying again.

Rest assured that the ACLJ is monitoring this bill closely and will be ready to take action against the Biden IRS, even in federal court again if necessary.
