Pro-Abortion Minority Blocks Senate Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood Despite Bipartisan Majority’s Vote to Cut Tax Dollars

A pro-abortion extremist minority in the U.S. Senate has filibustered a vote to defund Planned Parenthood.

A bipartisan majority of the Senate voted to close debate and vote to cut off the abortion giant’s taxpayer funding, falling short of the 60-vote threshold to avoid a filibuster.

This means that a minority of the Senate – led by Planned Parenthood’s pro-abortion political allies – have blocked a vote.

Planned Parenthood continues to rake in over $500 million of our tax dollars a year.  It continues to slaughter nearly 330,000 babies a year.  And it continues to pad its bottom line by selling these slaughtered babies’ body parts.

Yet 45 Members of the Senate voted to allow this barbarity to continue to be funded by you and me, the taxpayers.

While we must hold these Senators accountable for their vote for barbarity, it is equally important to thank those Senators (a bipartisan majority including Senators Manchin (D-WV) and Donnelly (D-IN)) who spoke out to stop subsidizing Planned Parenthood’s abortion business.

Our fight to defund the abortion giant will not be deterred.  A majority of the Senate and a majority of Americans do not want to be forced to pay for this evil.

We continue to work with members of both houses of Congress on key committee investigations of Planned Parenthood’s potentially illegal activity.
