BREAKING: This Russia Hoax Was an ACTUAL Hoax

President Trump called it and now the headlines are saying it. The intelligence community has walked back its claim that Russians put bounties on U.S. troops.

During the election, then-candidate Joe Biden attacked President Trump over alleged Russian bounties being offered for killing American soldiers. Last fall, as we got closer to the election, Biden accused the President of committing: “a betrayal of the most sacred duty we bear as a nation, to protect and equip our troops when we send them into harm’s way.”

In what seems to be becoming a familiar pattern of about-faces by President Biden, the White House is confirming that this story was likely a HOAX.

As reported:

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Thursday there is not strong evidence that Russia allegedly offered bounties to the Taliban to target U.S. and allied forces in Afghanistan.

Psaki said a review by the intelligence committee conducted in the wake of explosive news reports last year about the allegation determined its veracity with only “low-to-moderate confidence.”

In fact, the “intelligence” was given to an Afghani jailer who was loyal to the U.S. by a prisoner who was simply trying to earn his freedom with potentially false, but desirous, information. In fact they’re now calling it “a story,” not intelligence at all.

It was “fake news.” But that didn’t stop the Left, then-candidate Biden, the mainstream media, and even former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton from quickly using this unverified information to, as ACLJ Senior Counsel Andy Ekonomou put it, club President Trump over the head during an election.

Now even The Daily Beast, which is no right-leaning source or fan of Donald Trump by any means, interpreted White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s “low-to-moderate confidence” statement as most likely meaning  “the intelligence agencies have found the story is, at best, unproven—and possibly untrue.”

Yet, the mainstream media reported it ad nauseum, and then-candidate Biden called President Trump “Putin’s puppy.”

So where is President Biden’s apology for his disrespectful, abusive accusations? Where is the retraction from the mainstream media? Those are rhetorical questions of course. We’re not actually holding our breath for either. And as we’ve told you, it’s not the first the time the Deep State and the media have utilized unverified, specious information as evidence to attack President Trump.

There is a real question about media accountability as well as interference here, as ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell pointed out:

It’s just so outrageous . . . they were pushing this during an election. They also told us not to look at Hunter Biden’s laptop because that was Russian disinformation. I think we’ve got to look at what the media has done to interfere with the 2020 election. We now have multiple stories that were lies that they pushed. And how about the fact that we had organizations like CBS News saying that they had confirmed additionally what this report said. They went out on a limb and said we also can confirm this. This is once again using leaked, anonymous information and acting like it’s some sort of an intelligence-verified set of documents. It’s partisan. It’s terrible.

It is terrible. As my son, ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow put it:

“The mainstream media was carrying the weight for a poorly organized Biden campaign that people weren’t excited about. So they had to come up with reasons to call the President treasonous. And they did.”

No one is saying Russia isn’t an issue. We told you yesterday it appears that Russia is gearing up to invade Ukraine. We must continue to vigilantly watch them. But the bottom line here is that intelligence has been manipulated and the mainstream media, as usual, fell for it. They did the Deep State’s work for them. And what are the consequences?

So far, it seems like the answer is none.

That is why we work tirelessly to equip you with this sort of information and why we’ve added experts like Ric Grenell to stay on top of it.

Today’s full Sekulow broadcast is complete with more analysis of this Russia hoax exposed, including insight by ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell.
