Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just held a press conference in Jerusalem to discuss the swirling news of a potential deal to free the remaining Israeli hostages. This news comes on the heels of the Biden Administration sending Secretary of State Antony Blinken to meet privately with Netanyahu.

Though many thought a ceasefire might be imminent, Netanyahu just announced that Israel has declined any deal with Hamas. Rather, Israel will complete its mission of completely eradicating Hamas and demilitarizing Gaza. He expects that a victory will come within months.

Our hearts continue to go out to the hostages still suffering at the hands of Hamas terrorists. We expect justice on behalf of Israel and the hostages’ families – Israel has no choice but to eliminate the threat of Hamas completely.

Our ACLJ team is still working diligently on behalf of the hostages’ families to ensure their loved ones return home. As we told you, our European affiliate recently had a significant meeting in Spain with world leaders to garner support.

I can’t stress enough the importance of the U.S. backing Israel. First, we must support Israel’s mission to eradicate Hamas because it poses a threat to the entire world.

Second, there is a significant economic factor at play too. The Middle East produces about 40 percent of the world’s oil for the West, including the U.S. Right now, the national average for a gallon of gas in the U.S. is about $3.50.

If Iran shuts down the Strait of Hormuz (where a large portion of the world’s oil passes through), we could be looking at $10 per gallon. That would result in a devastating economic impact on the U.S. and the world – likely creating a massive recession. The Biden Administration must do whatever it can to ensure that doesn’t happen.

Finally, the U.S. should also support Israel because the country serves as a beacon of light for democracy. Israel’s government structure is similar to ours, albeit on a much smaller scale. Most other countries in the Middle East do not have fair and free elections or afford basic human freedoms to their people.

Israel has also been the tip of the spear for gathering intelligence in the Middle East in America’s war against Islamic terrorism. We’ve depended on them for vital information after attacks on the USS Cole, the World Trade Center, American embassies, etc. Israel has been a vital ally for us in protecting American interests.

The U.S. must not waver in its support of Israel, which is why the news of the Biden Administration and the United Kingdom considering the possibility of recognizing the statehood of “Palestine” is so shocking. To recognize statehood at this time would only reward Hamas for its murderous attack on October 7.

Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon joined Sekulow to further explain the danger of the Biden Administration recognizing the statehood of “Palestine”:

It is literally an existential threat to the State of Israel. But importantly for us here in America also, it is a threat to the stabilization of the entire region. It threatens to destabilize the entire Middle East. It is a huge reward to Iran, which backed October 7 and the atrocities of the genocidal attack on the Jewish state, to say we’re going to reward the same terrorist organizations.

The ACLJ voiced its support for Israel by sending legal letters to U.S. Secretary of State Blinken and UK Foreign Minister David Cameron. We explained why the West must not be involved in any two-state agreement between Israel and the Palestinians – such external pressure will only put Israel further at risk.

As we told you, we officially filed our final brief at the U.S. Supreme Court to defend your right to vote for the candidate of your choice. Oral argument will be tomorrow, with a ruling coming quickly.

We remain vigilant in stopping the far Left’s greatest election interference attempt in U.S. history. We’ve extended a Matching Moment to DOUBLE any donations received. Donate now.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast provided a full analysis of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s press conference and the importance of the U.S. backing Israel. We also discussed our Supreme Court case to preserve election integrity and the ACLJ’s efforts to save persecuted Christians in Nigeria.
