President Joe Biden’s hot mic moment (saying that he would have a “come to Jesus” meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu) after the State of the Union address has led to the White House drawing a dangerous “red line” with Israel. The President is opposed to the IDF’s (Israel Defense Force) plan to enter Rafah and is calling for a six-week ceasefire in Gaza. Netanyahu is adamant that the Biden Administration’s foreign policy decisions will only further endanger Israel’s war against Hamas.

Fox News reports on Biden’s hot mic moment and the ensuing fallout:

After President Biden was overheard on a hot mic on the House floor, he explained his comments in an interview on MSNBC and called for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war.

The moment went viral online following Biden's State of the Union speech, with the president telling a group about a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu is also known by the nickname, “Bibi.”

“I told him, Bibi [Netanyahu,]… you and I are going to have a ‘come to Jesus’ moment,” Biden said, using a term that usually refers to a moment where someone has a moment of major realization. . . .

When pressed on what exactly Biden intended with his use of that phrase, the president said that he believed that Netanyahu needed to do more to prevent innocent casualties in the country's war with Hamas.

As a result, President Biden was asked if Israel going into Rafah would be crossing a “red line.” President Biden replied: “It is a red line . . . but I’m never going to leave Israel. The defense of Israel is still critical, so there’s no red line I’m going to cut off all weapons so they don’t have the Iron Dome to protect them.” He then attempted to clarify that the “red line” was related to the number of Palestinian casualties that have resulted from Hamas’ unprovoked Oct. 7 attack on Israel. So is there or isn’t there a red line with Israel? The President is clearly giving contradictory statements.

Here’s what President Biden’s waffling tells us: He is starting to distance himself from Israel to placate the far-Left radicals. His State of the Union address was a clear attempt to appeal to the radicals in his party. (Don’t forget that he also publicly threatened the U.S. Supreme Court Justices and vowed to reinstate Roe.) And these “red line” comments are further proof of the White House’s waning support of our ally.

Not only is the Biden Administration starting to turn on Israel, but we also found out in the State of the Union that the President plans to use the U.S. Navy to build a floating pier off the shores of Gaza to give humanitarian aid – aid that will likely be taken by Hamas. Regardless of what the President claims, U.S. soldiers are going to be in harm’s way. And what happens if Hamas or the Houthis attack our troops? Are we looking at World War III?

Another interesting fallout from the State of the Union address is that the far Left is throwing a fit that the President used “illegal” when describing the murderer of Laken Riley. The President just announced his so-called error in not saying “undocumented.”

So the President didn’t apologize to Riley’s parents for the tragic death of their daughter, but he did take the time to apologize to the far Left for possibly offending the young girl’s killer. This is outrageous.

ACLJ Senior Counsel and Director of Policy Harry Hutchison reacted to the President’s pandering to the Left over the use of “illegal”:

After being counseled, apparently by the woke elites in the White House, [President Biden] then apologized for referring to the accused killer as an “illegal.” So at the end of the day, what counts in the consciousness of elites? What counts more than anything else is Western guilt. In other words, we are increasingly characterizing ourselves as the oppressor because we are not allowing our borders to be flooded by illegals who are then committing crime. . . . At the end of the day, beyond Biden’s confusion, we need to stamp out and eradicate Western guilt. We have a right to defend our borders.

If you enter the country illegally, then you are breaking the law and deserve to pay the consequences. Thus, the President’s term “illegal” is the correct word to use. The President’s weak stance on identifying illegal immigrants will put more Americans at risk.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of President Biden’s alarming “red line” comments and further distancing himself from Israel. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also joined our show to respond to President Biden’s State of the Union address and explain why Americans are not better off today than they were four years ago.
