IMPEACHMENT: Biden’s DHS Under Fire Because of Mayorkas’ Border Crisis

The House Homeland Security Committee held its first impeachment hearing for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over rampant illegal immigration amid the border crisis. Also, don’t forget the deadly threat to national security stemming from fentanyl coming across the border – Americans are dying at shocking rates from fentanyl.

CBS News reports on today’s impeachment hearing:

House Republicans are moving forward with their effort to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his handling of the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, holding their first hearing on the matter Wednesday morning.

“Today is a solemn occasion as this committee begins official impeachment proceedings in the matter of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and his handling of America’s borders since taking office in February 2021,” GOP Rep. Mark Green of Tennessee, the committee’s chairman said. “Our evidence makes it clear: Secretary Mayorkas is the architect of the devastation that we have witnessed for nearly three years.”

Republicans have made border security a central theme ahead of the 2024 elections and are seeking to capitalize on the issue after an unprecedented number of migrants crossed the southern border at the end of last year.

Last December, 302,000 migrant encounters took place – an all-time high. On top of that, 2.4 million apprehensions occurred in the 2023 fiscal year.

Our open border also poses a terrorist threat. As a result of our FOIA lawsuit, we exposed the Biden Administration’s cover-up of Yemeni terrorists apprehended at the border. And as we’ve told you, the FBI Terrorism Watchlist has reported dangerously high numbers of terrorists caught at the border in the last few years. And who knows how many terrorists have crossed undetected?

All this to say, the impeachment hearing against DHS Secretary Mayorkas is well warranted. We must secure our border, or Americans will remain at great risk.

The rip and replace of Americans in New York City is just one of the many consequences of an open border. . . . These are . . . U.S. cities within the United States that are ignoring . . . federal immigration laws and giving people aid and comfort to flout the United States legal system. This is an undermining of democracy . . . with students being replaced in New York. This is just the beginning, Jordan. We are going to see this in every single city where illegal immigrants are going to become the priority over U.S. citizens.
