Tomorrow the ACLJ is taking major legal action in the U.S. Supreme Court case regarding presidential immunity and specifically former President Donald Trump.

After special prosecutor Jack Smith delivered an indictment against President Trump, charging him of conspiring to defraud the United States, and attempting to obstruct an official proceeding, a federal appeals court ruled that Trump could not claim presidential immunity in the case.

We’re filing a critical amicus brief tomorrow in support of presidential immunity, to defend not only Trump, but every living president, past, present, and future.

This is an extremely dangerous precedent. A president cannot be subject to legal charges after they leave office for actions taken in their official capacity as President of the United States. Otherwise, it will open up a firestorm of cases against former presidents.

In other news related to President Trump and the U.S. Supreme Court, yesterday Rep. Adam Schiff confirmed that his political witch hunt against the former President rages on. Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union" with Dana Bash, Rep. Schiff – current member of the U.S. House of Representatives, who is running to be the next Senator from California – promptly unleashed an attack on the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that blocked the attempt to disqualify Donald Trump from the ballot.

Schiff criticized the Justices for their prior ruling and even questioned the integrity of the Court:

The Supreme Court moved with great speed when it came to ruling that Trump could appear on the ballot. The question is, will it also move at great speed in rejecting this bogus immunity claim? If it doesn’t, it’s making a deliberate decision essentially to push the trial past the election, and I think that would be a terrible decision both for the interest of justice. It would be a terrible decision in depriving American voters of the information they would learn during the course of that trial, but it would also just further discredit this partisan and reactionary court.

We’re seeing a concerted effort by the Left to attack the credibility of the Supreme Court because it’s actually adhering to the law and the U.S. Constitution, and not simply doing the bidding of Trump’s enemies.

Don’t forget that it was also Schiff, one of Trump’s most vocal critics, who led the Left’s impeachment proceedings against the President. I faced off against Rep. Schiff as I successfully represented President Trump in my personal capacity as part of his defense team during the first impeachment. Schiff’s diatribe against President Trump, and finger-wagging at the Supreme Court Justices, make it appear that he’s not over that loss. It’s also worth noting that Schiff is poised to be in a position to confirm future Supreme Court Justices.

This should cause major concern for all Americans who believe in our judicial system and the Constitution.

We were also joined by ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell to discuss updates in the ongoing Fani Willis saga in Georgia, as well as the Trump immunity case at the Supreme Court.
