BANNED for being homeschooled.
Andrew Coates is 22 years old. He's a state-certified EMT and a volunteer firefighter, but the city of Fremont, Nebraska, just told him he'll NEVER be a full-time firefighter. Not because he failed a test. Not because he can't do the job. Solely because his Christian family homeschooled him.
This is blatant discrimination against homeschoolers and Christian families. If this city gets away with it, it won't stop here. Today it's one firefighter; tomorrow it's nurses, teachers, and police officers locked out because they were homeschooled.
The ACLJ is taking immediate legal action. For decades we've defended school choice, parental rights, and religious liberty. We're demanding Fremont repeal this illegal ban now and let Andrew serve.
