We mentioned it briefly yesterday, but we are literally less than one month away from the first debate among the many Democrats hoping to be the 2020 contender against President Trump.

Today on the show, we discussed the 2020 campaign and the upcoming debate to be held in Miami. With so many Democrats having thrown their hats in the ring, the first debate will be held in two tiers, with a sort of top tier of candidates – presumably including former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Indian Mayor Pete Buttigieg – debating the first night.

The second, essentially lower tier, will probably include lesser publicized candidates like Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, John Delaney, and Andrew Yang. Yang is the lesser-known candidate that wants to give everyone in America $1,000 dollars. As opposed to Bernie Sanders, who seems to want everything to be free.

Right now we don’t really even know what will be the issue or issues most of these candidates will be running on.  There’s been a lot of impeachment talk, or the talk about the politics of impeachment, but this close to an election, who do these candidates think they’ll be running against if they’re going to try to impeach President Trump?

I want to know what real issues they’re going to put forward? I’m sure they’ll open the debates with their typical President Trump bashing, but that’s only going to sustain them for the first few minutes. What will these Democrats run on, especially in the face of a strong economy? The Green New Deal – a deal they wouldn’t even vote on because they know it’s preposterous, but claim to support it anyway?

Medicare For All? Will they address how they plan to pay for such an aggressive plan? When Bernie Sanders has been asked in the past, he danced around giving an honest answer.

Thann and I gave you the answer – Americans will pay for it in higher taxes.

What about border security? What will they support if they don’t support the wall?

With the debates quickly approaching, it’s time for these Democrats to finally start letting the American people know what they actually stand for.
