The Democratic National Committee (DNC) finally let us know who will be debating who in its first two Primary Debates, and the groupings seem, at least to us, to be more than a little lopsided.

On today’s show we discussed the newly released debate lineups, and the DNC’s attempt to keep the groupings fair, which may have actually backfired.

Even though we agreed it would have made much more sense to have a Tier 1 debate with the top candidates, and a Tier 2 debate with the rest. But in some misguided attempt to appear fair and unbiased, the DNC disregarded the polls and opted to choose names by a lottery, randomly mixing up the candidates.

The lineup for the first debate on Wednesday night, June 26th will be: Corey Booker, Bill De Blasio, John Delaney, Tulsi Gabbard, Julian Castro, Jay Insleee, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke, Tim Ryan, and Elizabeth Warren.

Elizabeth Warren seems to be a misplaced standout in the first debate, where she won’t even face off with the current frontrunner, former Vice President Joe Biden.

Night 2 will feature a few more familiar names including Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders, as well as Kirsten Gillibrand, Andrew Yang, Marianne Williamson, Eric Swalwell, Michael Bennet, and John Hickenlooper.

This may provide a prime opportunity for lesser known candidates to directly take on the frontrunners who have been overshadowing them. We brought up how a few weeks ago, former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper challenged the socialist agenda of popular Democrat Bernie Sanders.

“But let me be clear, if we want to beat Donald Trump and achieve big progressive goals, socialism is not the answer.”

Of course, Hickenlooper’s words were met with boos by the California audience, but he made his way into the headlines.

I put it to the audience – who do you think will pull ahead of the pack after these debates?

We also addressed updates on the suspected attack on two oil tankers by Iran in the Gulf of Oman. Iran has now announced it will willfully exceed its limits on enriched uranium stockpile, agreed to in the Iran Nuclear Deal. Our own Col. Wes Smith penned a spot-on analysis on why a desperate Iran is a threat to the entire world.
