Political Hypocrisy on Full Display in Washington DC (Sekulow Recap)

Political hypocrisy is on display in our nation’s capital.

Today on Sekulow, we are discussed the massive political hypocrisy currently on full display in Washington, DC.

One such example is Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s past threatening statements on the steps on the U.S. Supreme Court. We played this on the show yesterday, but it bears repeating. Again, here’s what Senator Schumer said on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court, not terribly long ago:

I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.

Those were threatening words made about two U.S. Supreme Court Justices. It’s not just me saying these are threating words, Chief Justice John Roberts directly rebuked Senator Schumer’s “threatening statements” as “inappropriate” and “dangerous.” These are lifetime appointments. They are not subject to politics. You can’t interpret that as talking about beating them in the next election. You cannot interpret it that in any other way than a threat. Senator Schumer used language that sounded violent.

Talk about violating separation of powers and attacking a co-equal branch of government, threatening them with violent words. Those were fighting words as the phrase goes. When you actually watch Senator Schumer’s speech and see his face and his emoting, as well as the reaction by the crowd of people, you can’t help but interpret it as anything but threatening, if not an act of incitement.

But was Senator Schumer censured for those words in the Senate? Did anyone call for him to resign? Did anyone call for Congress to start the process to have him removed? They certainly have a process to do that. But the answer to all those questions is clearly no.

At the time, we covered Senator Schumer’s words, pointing out the ridiculous and absurd rhetoric. And this is just the tip of the iceberg of violent sounding statements made by the Left in DC, elected officials who are part of an impeachment process against President Trump, for words.
