I’ve been practicing law for a very long time, and even I can still be surprised. Whether intentional or not, it’s been leaked that the Department of Justice was prepared to seek a warrant in order to conduct a search of President Joe Biden’s home to look for more classified documents.

As is being reported:

The Justice Department was prepared to obtain a warrant to search President Biden’s Delaware home for classified documents had the commander-in-chief’s legal team not given consent, according to a report.

Before the FBI conducted its unprecedented 13-hour-long search of the 80-year-old president’s 6,850-square-foot Wilmington mansion last week, Biden’s lawyers and the DOJ discussed the details of when and how the sweep would take place, according to CNN.

We reported last week that the FBI searched President Biden’s home in Delaware for more than twelve hours, which indeed produced more classified files that weren’t supposed to be there. Biden cooperated with the search, but we’ve now learned federal investigators were prepared to obtain a search warrant. Imagine that. A sitting President of the United States almost had the FBI pounding on the door, ready to come in whether he liked it or not.

Now ask yourselves something: How is it possible that the federal government’s handling of classified information has gotten so sloppy and so broken that we’re discovering sensitive documents lying around, stuffed in closets, and sitting in boxes in a garage? It certainly makes us look very weak as a country. We are a constitutional republic, and it is time for some major house cleaning.

ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell echoed the same thought:

It really takes away our moral authority to tell other countries to clean up their act. And that’s what I’m concerned about. It is chipping away at our moral authority. Look, I think that this immediately goes to the problems of Washington, D.C. Not only the weaponization of this government – there’s a whole bunch of dictators around the world who would love to weaponize their departments of justice – but also I can’t help but think about the media. . . . There are a whole bunch of countries with dictators who would love to have the mainstream media on their side.

Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes more analysis of this revelation that the Biden DOJ considered obtaining a search warrant against President Biden. We also gave you an immediate update on a major pro-life case where our attorneys just presented oral argument in federal appeals court THIS MORNING, as well as a case defending peaceful, pro-life sidewalk counselors – not protestors – who are using their First Amendment rights to offer desperate mothers alternatives to abortion.
