Biden Launches an Unending Economic War Against the American People
Since his January 2021 inauguration, President Biden has unleashed an economic and cultural war against the American people. Who can forget that he unilaterally canceled the Keystone Pipeline, canceled hundreds of oil and gas leases, and ignored rising food prices? Or the various Biden Administration actors who labeled rising inflation as transitory or a high-class problem?
Some Americans still believe that the current record inflation and record gasoline prices are part of an unintentional Biden program that misfired. But the reality is quite different because the Biden Administration, properly understood, believes in intelligent (or unintelligent) design. Consider the International Energy Administration’s forecast that global oil demand growth will accelerate to 2.2 million barrels per day in 2023 up from 1.8 million barrels per day in 2022. In the face of such evidence, the question becomes: What has the Biden Administration done?
First, it has promised to regulate American Oil out of existence in favor of wind and solar and dirty electric vehicles that lead to the strip mining that can be called the rape of Africa. Meanwhile, the Administration now asks oil companies to magically lower prices. If we’re on the precipice of a climate apocalypse and if saving the planet trumps every other concern, why is Joe Biden begging everyone to drill?
Second, the Biden Administration is now begging for Middle East oil while halting oil production in Alaska. Biden National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan now complains that the Middle East is simply not doing enough, even though the Biden Administration has done its part to deliberately make oil scarce, thereby driving up prices. This is a ludicrous claim that is designed to deflect attention from where it rightly belongs: The Biden Administration’s failure to understand basic supply and demand.
Third, the Administration has blocked the Keystone Pipeline and its promise of bringing oil to the U. S. safely, but now the Administration seeks to purchase Canadian oil via trucks and railroad cars. This is an indefensible policy that needs to end sooner rather than later.
Fourth, the Administration demands that oil companies become patriots by lowering their prices. Simultaneously, the Administration seeks to replace fossil fuels with unreliable sources of energy such as wind and solar. Indeed, climate czar John Kerry insists that Americans pay more and more for energy while opposing more domestic oil production. This unnecessarily exposes the American people to oil spills and other environmental disasters.
Fifth, the Biden Administration, despite clear and unmistakable evidence from CIA Director Bill Burns that inviting Ukraine to join NATO could provoke the Russia Bear, the Biden Administration decided to continue to invite Ukraine to join NATO. The Biden Administration’s missteps also include its failure to invoke sanctions on Russia before, not after, the conflict started. This disastrous approach provoked a conflict that now prevents Ukrainian grain and agriculture products from reaching the West and the continent of Africa.
At the same time, of course, the Russian currency has risen dramatically in value and now Russia seems poised to either prolong or win its war in Ukraine, while Americans face the increasing prospect of poverty. Meanwhile, Russia, one of the world’s largest producers of nitrogen-based fertilizer, is blocked from sending fertilizer to the West, sending fertilizer and food prices soaring while the Biden Administration’s band of bumblers continues to play on. So now the American people must suffer from record inflation that actually understates the inflation rate. This must end.
Indeed, as one report put it:
Democrats have spent decades warning that the United States must stop using the most efficient and affordable energy sources or it will be consumed by heat waves, fireballs, and cataclysmic weather events. Every flood, every hurricane—every natural event, really—is now blamed on climate change. We have burdened our children with an irrational dread over their future. Then again, many in The Cult of Malthus won’t even have children.
Instead of declaring war on the American people, the Administration and the government must unleash American energy independence including clean natural gas, coal, oil, and even nuclear power. The failure to do so will mean that the Biden nightmare continues. The American people should remember all of these facts and self-induced nightmares this coming November.
