Are your taxpayer dollars going to the Wuhan lab that may have been the source of COVID-19?

Today on Sekulow, we discuss the fact that the laboratory in Wuhan, China – yes, the same lab that may have unleashed COVID-19 on the world – is still eligible to receive your taxpayer dollars until 2024. In other news, up is down and down is up.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is the facility that may have been responsible for COVID-19 entering the human population, is still eligible to receive U.S. taxpayer funding.

ACLJ Director of Government Affairs Thann Bennett gave his take on U.S. funding of the Wuhan Institute of Virology:

Six hundred thousand dollars in U.S. taxpayer money went to this lab between 2014 and 2019 and as we sit with the uncertainty that exists with how culpable they were in the release of this virus to the general population. Remember, U.S. officials still say it is inconclusive, that there is still great concern that they played a central role in this virus being released into the population. In the midst of that uncertainty, the very least you should do is cease authorization of funding going forward. Look, if one day they’re exonerated, you could maybe consider releasing future authorizations. Although, I would tell you in the middle of a pandemic, we’re probably a long way away from that being the appropriate course of action.

Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, is the guy telling us to blindly accept that this Wuhan lab was not the source of the pandemic. He was the sole U.S. member of the World Health Organization (WHO) delegation to investigate the Wuhan lab. It’s important to point out his organization’s grant was terminated by the National Institute of Health in April of last year amidst criticism of his organization’s relationship with the Wuhan Institute for Virology. He was actually defunded for this relationship. His opinion is specious, at best.

The fact that this lab is still eligible for U.S. funding is a prime example of Washington, DC and federal government absurdity. Under no circumstances should our tax dollars continue to go to the Wuhan lab. And the fact that their major U.S. defender had his funding stripped should tell you everything you need to know.

The Biden Administration has a decision to make. They can terminate the taxpayer funding. They do not have to accept the WHO’s finding. In fact, U.S. intelligence agencies are still standing by the idea that they cannot rule out that the virus came from that Wuhan lab.
