Radio Recap – White House Chief of Staff “Optimistic” President Trump Will Return to White House Today
The White House Chief of Staff said this morning that he was “optimistic” that the President will return to the White House today.
On today’s Jay Sekulow Live, we discussed the progress President Trump has made fighting COVID-19. White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said that he is “optimistic” that the President will return to the White House today.
Some breaking news developed as we were live on the air that White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany tested positive for COVID-19. This is in line with those that took the test at a later time. If you take the COVID-19 test too early, it is possible to get a false negative back or even a false positive. If you wait a little longer, those tests can change as the virus develops and is shown in your system.
My dad, Jay Sekulow, talked to the President this morning and told us how he was doing:
I spoke to the President this morning. He sounded . . . very good. He says he’s doing well. He’s pleased with his recovery thus far. But, look, you’ve got a situation now with Kayleigh McEnany and our thoughts and prayers go out to her. A lot of other people that I work with have had a similar situation. Fortunately no one on the legal team, both inside and outside the White House, has had this. I think, look, you’ve got to take precautions, but if the President’s released today, remember they can care for him at the White House. It’s not as if he doesn’t get care while he’s at the White House. He does so that would not be an issue. The question was stabilizing him when the situation developed on Friday. It sounds like that has gone very well, that the medicines have really helped. So I’m optimistic.
He sounded very good. He was asking me questions about various matters I’m handling as if it was business as usual. I think for the country, in that sense, it is business as usual.
It’s good to see the President recovering and our prayers continue to go out for his full and speedy recovery.
After the show, the President did in fact confirm that he is planning to return to the White House this evening.
The full broadcast is complete with a wide-ranging discussion by our team about how President Trump is doing and what it means for the country. We were joined on the show by ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell. He has a new blog up, entitled “Senate Report Reveals Hunter Biden’s Profiteering During the Obama-Biden Administration Went Further Than Previously Thought.”
