On this Mini-Super Tuesday, or Super Tuesday Two as some are calling it, will Senator Bernie Sanders survive after the votes come in tonight?

On today’s Jay Sekulow Live we discussed and previewed Mini-Super Tuesday’s Democrat primaries.

There’s one state, Idaho, which we really don’t have a lot of polling on but Senator Sanders did win it in 2016. However, Vice-President Biden is up 4% in the latest poll there. He’s also up 21-24% based on polling out of Michigan. Senator Sanders won there in 2016. Missouri votes today, where Vice-President Biden is up 22-30%. Clinton won that in 2016.

In Mississippi, the former Vice-President is up by 55%. There’s no available polling that we saw in North Dakota but Senator Sanders did win there in 2016. It all depends on turnout there.

Lastly, we have Washington State. This is one state that Senator Sanders should literally be running away with. Maybe the polling is off, but currently Vice-President Biden is leading there too.

I think it really comes down to Michigan and Washington State for Senator Sanders. The rest he can more or less afford to win or lose, but if he gets beaten by twenty plus points in Michigan and loses a Pacific Northwest Democrat Primary, he’s in serious trouble. I think if you add those two together, a big loss in Michigan and maybe even eking out a victory in Washington State, Senator Sanders’ campaign is effectively over.

ACLJ Director of Government Affairs Thann Bennett made the following points about why these two states matter so much:

First of all, they both are the biggest delegate hauls available today. Secondly, at the beginning of this process where Senator Sanders laid out a roadmap to get the nomination, these two states would have been very high on the list. These are states he won last time around. Now, last time around some of the polls did show him way behind in Michigan as well and he came back to win that state. I would tell you that these are both states that he needed to win by double digits, so the fact that they are even close is saying something.  If there’s any chance at all for him to get the nomination, those are two states that he has to have.

We also discussed Thann Bennett’s a new book that is available today, entitled: My Fame, His Fame. You can find it in stores everywhere as well as at the link here.
