Biden Admin Press Secretary Jen Psaki Bombs Press Conference
If you ask White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, every problem in the United States is because of Vladimir Putin. Even our rising gas prices.
For their first year in office, the Biden Administration blamed President Trump for every problem. Now, they’ve shifted the blame to Russian President Vladimir Putin. When it comes to the rapidly rising gas prices here in the U.S., the Biden answer is “it’s Putin’s fault.” Inflation? Putin.
When asked what’s going to happen with gas prices, President Biden answered curtly: “Gonna go up. Can’t do much right now. Russia’s responsible.”
Seriously? That’s the response from the President of the United States of America? Just throw your hands up and say “it’s not my fault.” Frankly, it’s embarrassing.
Just yesterday, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy challenged Psaki on her constant misdirection, shifting the blame on Putin.
Doocy: The President’s statement blames the Putin price hike. Are you guys just going to start blaming Putin for everything, until the midterms?
Psaki: Well we’ve seen the price of gas go up at least seventy-five cents since President Putin lined up troops on the border of Ukraine.
Okay, maybe, but what about before the Russian tanks ever reached Ukraine’s border? Why were gas prices already rising before that?
We all saw the humorous – and not incorrect – stickers being stuck to gas pumps recently showing President Biden pointing to the price with the caption “I did that.” That started months ago when the price at the pump began to rise. The Russian invasion of Ukraine began roughly two weeks ago. Unlike your bill when you fill your tanks, Psaki’s math doesn’t add up.
A more accurate explanation for the current gas hike, for example, would be President Biden shutting down the Keystone XL Pipeline. He revoked potential drilling licensees, and many of those that are available are worthless, despite Psaki’s claim that there are plenty of permits not being used.
Believe it or not, “The buck stops with me” President himself, Joe Biden, released an official statement taking no responsibility for our current economic woes, and again shifting all the blame on the Russian leader:
[T]oday’s inflation report is a reminder that Americans‘ budgets are being stretched by price increases and families are starting to feel the impacts of Putin’s price hike. A large contributor to inflation this month was an increase in gas and energy prices as markets reacted to Putin’s aggressive actions.
Certainly, Putin is committing terrible atrocities against Ukraine and threatening the world if anyone dares try to stop him. His actions are indefensible and must be dealt with harshly. But to blame Putin for American problems that began months ago or more is disingenuous at best. More likely it’s intentional misdirection.
Our problems are the direct result of one man, President Biden, and his Administration. The one constant in all these problems is the Biden Administration and their bad policies which now have us begging dictators and tyrants for oil.
It’s time for Psaki, and the rest of the Biden Administration to stop passing the buck and admit that it is their policies that are hitting Americans in the wallet. Other outside forces are certainly impacting us, such as Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, but President Biden has had plenty of opportunities to take appropriate measures to prevent, or at least offer some relief from these economic and energy issues. Instead, he’s continually chosen to point his finger at anything but himself.
