A lawsuit has been filed against the City of Fort Myers and one of its police officers after pro-lifers were prevented from talking with women going into a local abortion clinic.

Judith Minahan and JoAnn O'Connell regularly approach women outside the Fort Myers Women's Health Center to talk to them about alternatives to abortion and post-abortion healing.

Their sidewalk counselling is described in the lawsuit as non-confrontational and includes activities like praying and distributing literature on abortion.

The American Center for Law and Justice, which is representing the two women, said it is not the first time sidewalk abortion counsellors have experienced interference in the city. . . .
