Abortion Clinic Workers Endanger Mothers to Profit from Baby Body Parts

Over the past several months, Planned Parenthood and their allies in the media have done everything in their power to silence pro-life and pro-women advocates who have brought the truth to light about Planned Parenthood’s abhorrent practice of selling aborted baby body parts.

Yet, despite their best efforts, new evidence continues to emerge that shines a light upon their dubious actions.

Just last week, congressional investigations into abortion practices unearthed evidence of abortion clinic employees being paid extra for every baby body part they obtain after an abortion.  The House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives released documents that show technicians at one abortion clinic received bonuses based on the number of fetal body parts they were able to harvest.

The Washington Times reports:

Rep. Sean T. Duffy, Wisconsin Republican, pointed to a compensation schedule showing that technicians were paid $35 per specimen up to 10 specimens and $45 per specimen thereafter, in addition to their salaries. The name of the clinic was redacted.
He also cited another exhibit showing what he called a “wish list” from a tissue procurement business to a clinic technician that included items for purchase such as “liver, thymus, skin.”

“So we see the technician gets paid per specimen, and the more specimens you provide, the more money you make. And as a side note, I thought that there was no profit motive here,” Mr. Duffy said, alluding to Planned Parenthood’s defense of the legality of its fetal parts harvesting.

The congressional investigation also revealed evidence that the same technicians who receive compensation for harvesting the body parts are responsible for convincing the mother to sign consent forms for the harvest.  But is the financial compensation disclosed on the consent form?  No. It is outrageous and highly unethical!

In addition to the evidence uncovered through the congressional investigation, undercover investigative journalists at the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) revealed new video footage this week showing that Planned Parenthood has altered abortion procedures – sometimes at the risk of the woman's life – to kill babies in a way to maximize profit from selling the body parts.  In the new video, Dr. Jennifer Russo, the Medical Director at Planned Parenthood of Orange & San Bernardino Counties, admits that her office has been supplying a local for-profit fetal tissue company, Da Vinci Biosciences, with baby body parts.   

When asked whether they will provide intact specimens, Dr. Russo admits they try to get whole specimens. According to CMP, the procedure used to get intact specimens puts the mother at risk, violates medical ethical standards, and are possibly illegal. 

CMP reports:

In the first CMP undercover video, Planned Parenthood’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, described using an ultrasound-guided procedure to flip the fetus to feet-first position in order to get intact specimens. When asked about using this procedure to harvest more intact body parts, Orange County’s Russo confesses, “Yeah, we like to do that too.”

Using ultrasound guidance to manipulate the fetus from vertex to breech orientation before intact extraction is the hallmark of the illegal partial-birth abortion procedure (18 U.S.C. 1531). Nucatola previously recommended Russo and Planned Parenthood in Orange County as good prospective partners for fetal body parts harvesting.

Additionally, the video showed invoices from Da Vinci Biosciences listing prices for various baby body parts.  Da Vinci is charging $350 for fetal liver, $500 for fetal thymus, and $750 for fetal brain.

This is appalling, and further reveals the lies and deceptions of the abortion industry. They spread their lies that these unborn babies aren’t yet humans worthy of protection and dignity under our laws while performing abortions in ways that will pad their pockets with money from those human body parts.

This is why our work is so important.  This is why we won’t stop until, as one former Planned Parenthood clinic director says, abortion is not only illegal, but also unthinkable.
