The utter disaster that is the ObamaCare website has been on full display.  President Obama himself even says it’s unacceptable.  But we are all going to have to accept it for now apparently.

Yesterday, in his big speech on ObamaCare, President Obama said there is “no excuse” for how devastatingly bad the ObamaCare rollout has been.  He then provided a litany of excuses for why ObamaCare is still the wonderful program he always said it would be.

He said that while the “glitches” in the website are worked out people could still call the 1-800 number.

Talk show host Sean Hannity did just that:

Unsurprisingly, the call center operator who answered the phone didn’t have many answers.  While she was one of the nicest people you might ever want to speak to, she said that she had been instructed to tell people that the website was down right now for the next couple of days.  When Hannity asked her if anyone she had spoken with was really happy about ObamaCare, she replied bluntly, “Umm, no, not really.”

She read the script that she was instructed to read to anyone having issues with the ObamaCare website:

Thanks for your interest in the health insurance marketplace.  We are having a lot of visitors trying to use our website right now.  This is causing some glitches for some people trying to create an account or log in.  Please continue trying, and thanks for your patience.  You might have better success during off peak hours like later at night or early in the morning.  We’ll continue working to improve the site so you can get covered.

The call center specialist went on to say that callers were reporting to her that the site isn’t even working during those off peak hours.

The bottom line is that you can’t get covered.  You are faced with penalties if you don’t comply with a law and a website that are broken.

As I wrote yesterday, if you can get through, you may be faced with yearly premiums in excess of $50,000.

It’s not only wrong, but it betrays the trust of the American people.

It’s time for those responsible to be held accountable and to delay this mandate that is impossible to comply with.
