The First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which was adopted on December 15, 1791, is incredibly important for many reasons. For starters, it ensures that there is no “prohibition on the free exercise of religion,” or any “abridging the freedom of speech.” It protects many facets of our lives – sometimes in ways we may not realize.
