In 1945, the United Nations was formed with the intent of preventing global conflict on the scale of World War II. It began with 51 member states and has since grown to include 193. And while the U.N. has certainly accomplished a lot of good since its inception, there have also been significant problems and shortcomings, such as anti-Semitic bias and a failure to recognize the genocide against Christians and other religious minorities in the Middle East and beyond.
