In a major shift in U.S. foreign policy, President Trump took the world by surprise, confirming the United States’ recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over Golan Heights.

On today’s show, we discussed the President’s tweet yesterday stating it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights.”

Golan Heights is a strategically valuable plateau that Israel occupied in 1967 for much-needed strategic protection against Syrian aggression and threats. Israel officially annexed Golan Heights in 1981, despite protests by the anti-Israel United Nations. Israel’s sovereignty of the region has been contested ever since.

A grateful Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered his heartfelt thanks to President Trump during a press conference with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, stating:

“President Trump has just made history. I called him. I thanked him on behalf of the people of Israel. He did it again . . . He recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights. And he did so at a time when Iran is trying to use Syria as a platform to attack and destroy Israel. And the message that President Trump has given the world is that America stands by Israel.”

As our President continues to solidify our relationship with our great ally Israel, many Democratic presidential candidates have announced they won’t attend the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference in Washington, D.C. next week.

Senator Lindsey Graham backed up the President’s words, himself tweeting out: “To return the Golan Heights to Syria would be to reward aggression and put the Jewish State at perpetual risk.”

We also gave you an update on developments in the case of Christian Pastor and U.S. permanent resident John Cao, who we are working to free from a Chinese prison, where he has been sentenced to seven years for living his Christian faith. Today, March 22nd was supposed to be his appeal hearing, but once again it has been arbitrarily delayed – the fifth time this has happened.

As we told you, our team just accompanied Pastor Cao’s wife Jamie to Geneva as she addressed the U.N. Human Rights Council and implored them to intervene on her wrongfully imprisoned husband’s behalf.
