The Biden Administration notified Congress of a proposed U.S. weapons sale to Israel worth $735 million before the deadly attacks began between Hamas and Israel. The sale of weapons is now being reviewed by Congress as the far Left and the Biden Administration are split on whether Israel has a right to defend itself from the rocket attacks led by Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas.

On May 10th, the House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman and long-time supporter of Israel, Representative Gregory Meeks tweeted out:

Hamas’ attacks into Israel are terrorism, plain and simple. It must stop immediately.

However, only seven days later, the chairman changed his mind. Rep. Meeks is sending a letter to the Biden Administration soon requesting a DELAY in the sale of $735 million in missiles to Israel to protect their own citizens. What radically changed in seven days? Did his far-Left colleagues influence him?

After all, Rep. Illhan Omar said it would be appalling if the Administration went through with the sale. Sen. Bernie Sanders called for the U.S. to take a “hard look” at the military support the U.S. gives to Israel each year.

This indicates there could be Democrats getting ready to turn their back on our ally Israel and not send the weapons it needs to defend itself. The Biden Administration’s strategy for dealing with this situation is quiet diplomacy including most conversations happening behind the scenes.

Quiet diplomacy? Really? While rockets are raining down on Jerusalem, the U.S. is being “quiet”? That’s absurd.

When White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked why the Biden Administration is handling the Middle East differently than the Trump Administration, she responded:

We are not following the same tactics of the prior Administration. The President has reinstated humanitarian assistance and security assistance to the Palestinians. That’s something that was stopped in 2018 and we felt was not a constructive action by the prior Administration. Aside from putting forward a peace proposal that was dead on arrival, we don’t think they did anything constructive, really, to bring an end to the longstanding conflict in the Middle East.

ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell responded to Jen Psaki’s astonishing remarks:

Let’s be very clear. We should start, remind, and finish every single interview from here to eternity on the fact that Jen Psaki just admitted that they have a different policy, a fundamentally different policy, a 180-degree difference than the Trump Administration when it comes to the Middle East. Now what does this mean? I am all for Presidents having new policies and trying new and different things. But we cannot have a Washington D.C. that puts its head in the sand after they implement policies and not evaluate whether or not their new policy is working. Let’s step back and see. I agree with Jen. They did something dramatically different than the Trump Administration. It isn’t working. Stop. This whole idea of quiet diplomacy isn’t working. We don’t have a U.S. Ambassador to Israel. What are they thinking?

It’s also critical to note that Jen Psaki just admitted that the Biden Administration resumed funding for the Palestinians, right before the rockets started flying into Israel. That should tell you something, but the Administration remains willfully blind to the truth as it edges toward a renewed betrayal of our greatest ally in the Middle East.

We must push this aid to Israel and help our ally protect their own citizens. The Biden Administration must stand firm against members of his own party to get this done. Now is not the time to cater to the radical base, it is time to back up our words with actions. Our ally needs us now. We told you how quickly this situation is escalating. It is time to step up and act.
