Is it lawful for our government to impose a religious test on public officials?

In a recent display of unprecedented anti-Christian bigotry, Senator Durbin harassed one of President Trump’s judicial nominees for living out her Christian faith. Senator Feinstein astoundingly attacked, “The dogma lives loudly within you.” They questioned her fitness to serve as a judge because of her “religious beliefs” as a Christian. This kind of bigoted, anti-Christian discrimination has no place in the U.S. Senate.
