A major FBI agent involved with the Russia Hoax has been revealed.
On today’s Jay Sekulow Live we discussed the revelation of the identity of “Case Agent One”.
When I went to the floor of the United States Senate about a month ago, I started the conversation by addressing the fact that you could not look at the Senate impeachment proceedings in a vacuum. That wouldn’t be a fair way to address any of it. You had to look at it in the context of what had taken place.
I started with Crossfire Hurricane, which was the investigation that was targeting the President’s campaign, a year before the Mueller Probe even began. What’s now come out is a FBI agent, faulted with probably the most significant problems laid out in the Justice Department’s Inspector General’s report, has been identified. Remember, the FBI was being reviewed by Inspector General Michael Horowitz, the DOJ Inspector General for FISA Abuse.
The FBI agent is Stephen Somma. He’s a counter-intelligence investigator who works out of the New York Field Office. He was “Case Agent One” as referred to in the Inspector General Report. The IG was very strong on the fact that they mishandled information, refused to turn over documents; in fact, refused to turn over exculpatory documents.
ACLJ Director of Policy Harry Hutchison made the following point:
One of the things to keep in mind is this entire history. So we have Crossfire Hurricane. Then we have spying on the Trump Campaign via fraudulently obtained FISA warrants. Then we had the Mueller inquiry. Then we had the impeachment. All of these issues, all of these cases, were grounded largely in deceptive and fraudulent statements.
There was no basis in fact for any of these investigations and yet, we still hear sounds from Congressman Adam Schiff and others that they still need additional information. They don’t necessarily want an investigation to start with the facts. They want to start with the conclusion.
What’s interesting is the IG said that this individual was “primarily responsible for some of the most significant errors and omissions”. Now, one of the omissions that I think is clear here is that Somma’s initial request to the FISA court was rejected and the FBI later approved a FISA warrant on Carter Page after the Bureau received information from the former British spy Christopher Steele. We also found out that the sub-information that they gathered this from was not accurate. This FBI agent knew it and didn’t share that.
