HORROR STORY: IRS Agent Used Fake ID To Enter Taxpayer's Home
IRS protocol or home invasion? Either way, what an IRS agent did to an American taxpayer should send shivers down your spine.
According to Rep. Jim Jordan, a Biden IRS agent used a fake ID to deceive a U.S. citizen and enter their home under false pretenses.
As reported:
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, sent a letter to IRS Commissioner Werfel last week asking for details on the “bizarre” incident that occurred at the end of April.
An IRS agent, who identified himself as ‘Bill Haus’ with the agency’s criminal division, unexpectedly showed up at the home of a taxpayer in Marion, Ohio, on April 25 - beginning a series of unusual events.
The taxpayer let Haus inside her home after he informed her that he was there to ‘discuss issues concerning an estate for which the taxpayer was the fiduciary.’ . . .
Once inside, the agent revealed that the ‘true purpose’ of his visit was not related to the estate, but rather that she allegedly had ‘several delinquent tax return filings.’
As a result, the Ohio woman called her lawyer who immediately asked the agent to leave, but Haus responded ‘aggressively, insisting ‘I am an IRS agent, I can be at and go into anyone’s house at any time I want to be.’
No, as a matter of fact, an IRS agent cannot just enter anyone’s house whenever they feel like it. This is not only deceptive behavior but also criminal. It’s a violation of the Fourth Amendment. It’s also a complete betrayal of the public trust. The mere thought of an IRS agent knocking on the door scares most people to death. This behavior from a federal agent is completely unacceptable. The agent needs to be held accountable.
And the big question is, was this just one rogue agent, or is this a new tactic of the entire IRS to run roughshod over proper procedure and the U.S. Constitution?
And the story actually gets weirder. The victim called the IRS, spoke to this agent’s supervisor, and was told she owed nothing. Then she received a letter stating once again that her deceased family member had a delinquent account that she had to cover. And when she called the IRS again, she was told that the letter was also incorrect. Finally, a month after Agent Haus showed up on her doorstep, she received a letter saying it was a mistake, that nothing was owed, and that the case was closed. What a nightmare.
And now the IRS is expanding by hiring thousands of new agents – armed and authorized to use deadly force – to conduct home visits. Imagine an armed agent shows up at your door and says your deceased relative owed money and now it’s your responsibility. How many of us would just pay rather than fight it? The IRS tried to run a shake down on this innocent American taxpayer.
Thankfully, we have Rep. Jim Jordan at the helm of the House Judiciary Committee to take the IRS to task for this inexcusable abuse. If you feel like you’ve been targeted or harassed by a lawless government agent, please contact us.
