The Senate Judiciary Committee is going to subpoena Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey over censorship.

On today’s Jay Sekulow Live, we discussed the Senate Judiciary Committee announcing its intentions to subpoena the Twitter CEO over censorship of conservatives and even the press and to hold a hearing next Friday. Twitter has censored a bombshell New York Post story that shows Vice President Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, in a bad light. The social media platform has apparently even gone as far as blocking White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany and the Trump campaign Twitter account for sharing it. This is huge.

To paraphrase my dad, ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, the idea of a huge social media platform intentionally skewing the news, and skewing what the public sees and doesn’t see regarding a public figure – especially just days out from a presidential election – is very dangerous.

So dangerous in fact that this news is actually overshadowing the Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett. The Senate Judiciary Committee set a vote for 1 pm on October 22nd. Three Senators – Senators Graham, Cruz, and Hawley – actually stepped out of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing to make statements and announce that the Senate Judiciary Committee will be holding a vote to subpoena the CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, for his testimony in relation to this selective censorship of news outlets.

Senator Ted Cruz summed up the social media censorship situation perfectly:

The Committee today will be noticing a markup on Tuesday to issue a subpoena to Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee next Friday, to come before this Committee and the American people and explain why Twitter is abusing their corporate power to silence the press and to cover-up allegations of corruption. And let me be clear, I don’t know if these New York Post stories are true or not. Those are questions Vice President Biden should answer. But Twitter and Facebook and big tech billionaires don’t get to censor political speech and actively interfere in the election. That’s what they’re doing right now. And so on Tuesday, the Judiciary Committee, the full Committee, will be voting on subpoenas to subpoena Jack Dorsey to come before our Committee.

This is a major announcement. Conservatives have been particularly upset, and rightly so, as it has been conservatives who have been targeted by Twitter and Facebook. Our own ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell, a former Acting Director of National Intelligence and U.S. Ambassador to Germany, was locked out of his Twitter account just last week and had to have that resolved.

Ric is someone who has the ability to get that resolved, but a lot of people don’t. Again, this has been resonating amongst conservatives, and now Twitter has started banning newspapers – in this case, the fourth largest news outlet in the country.

It is very important that the Senate Judiciary Committee take this matter up. If this can happen to White House officials and our own ACLJ Special Advisor Ric Grenell, it can happen to you too.

Finally, while we were live on the air and the Senate Judiciary Committee was in a brief recess, Ranking Member Feinstein was caught in a hot mic moment commenting on Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s religion: “She’s been pro-life for a long time. So I suspect with her, it is deeply personal and comes with her religion.”

This is the second time Sen. Feinstein has attacked Judge Barrett’s faith. The far Left never misses an opportunity to speciously comment on a conservative’s religion.

The full broadcast is complete with much more discussion by our team about Twitter’s selective censorship, as well as analysis of the conclusion of the Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
