The Week Where Indecisive Policy Fuels Growing Problems

June 5, 2021

Despite being placed in charge of handling the southern border crisis, Vice President Kamala Harris has still yet to visit the area. The Biden Administration’s policy is to not solve the problem. Bizarrely, the Biden Administration is also refusing to support bipartisan legislation that would send more judges to the border to help with the processes. But ignoring the problem is not helping – the crisis is only getting worse.

The upcoming summit between President Biden and Vladmir Putin is getting closer. But is President Biden displaying weakness going into this meeting and setting up the U.S. in a position to get hacked again with no fear of U.S. retaliation? The U.S. doesn’t depend on Russia for anything, and yet we are getting pushed around. Travel on the East Coast was essentially shut down for days following hacks with Russian origins. Then a few weeks later, meatpacking companies are paying what can only be described as ransom to Russian hackers who've taken over their systems. So, they hack our pipelines and meat plants, and we do nothing. This is a clear national security threat and whether or not President Biden can stand up to the Russian leader will speak volumes.

The ACLJ has persisted in intervening for persecuted Christians at the international level. We have made 18 submissions at the U.N. since 2013 demanding action for Nigerian Christians and Christian teen Leah Sharibu. Leah Sharibu has been a hostage of the Islamist militia Boko Haram since 2018. Boko Haram has stolen Leah's childhood from her. We have a mission at the ACLJ to be the voice for Leah, and others like her who are victims to anti-Christian attacks and violence.

It is difficult to comprehend, but the crisis on the southern border is actually getting much worse.  And the Biden Administration is giving every evidence of being in total denial about how heartbreaking and chaotic the situation is currently. Notably having officially ended the "Remain in Mexico" policy.
