Pakistan is one of the most pernicious persecutors of Christians ever.
Pakistani Christians are tortured, raped, and burned alive. Some – like Christian mother of five Asia Bibi – are falsely accused of blasphemy and sentenced to execution by hanging because of their faith.
Others face mob violence and governmental abuse and injustice.
Despite the increasing extremism, the Pakistani government persistently fails to protect Christians from violence or bring its perpetrators to justice. Even worse the government of Pakistan itself is one of the world’s worst jihadist persecutors of Christians.
This deadly barbarism – this monumental injustice – must end.
We’ve mobilized our offices on the ground in Pakistan, at the U.N., and on Capitol Hill to aggressively fight back. We are directly defending numerous Christians in Pakistani courts.
Save the lives of persecuted Christians before it’s too late. Take action with us.
For years, the ACLJ has been raising the alarm for Christians in Pakistan who are living their lives in constant fear of violent persecution. Christians have been beaten, abducted, raped, imprisoned, bombed, and murdered. Now a new report by Christian human rights organization Open Doors has ranked...
Just last week, “ [t]he governor of the Boko Haram-infected Borno state in northeast Nigeria” stated that “Boko Haram’s violence has impacted over 100,000 people. . . . [and is] responsible for the creation of 59,311 orphans and 59,123 widows throughout its existence.” Indeed, Nigeria has become an...
2020 is already proving to be a deadly year for innocent Christians in Nigeria. Boko Haram – the Nigerian jihadist militia pledged to ISIS – just beheaded a Christian Pastor who weeks ago was shown in a hostage video telling the world: “Don’t cry. Don’t worry. But thank God for everything.” As...
Finally, the mainstream media has had no choice but to take notice of the persecution happening in China. A recent Time magazine article reported the arrest and closed-door conviction of Christian Pastor Wang Yi, the founder of Early Rain Covenant Church, who has been sentenced to 9 years in prison...
ACLJ petitions aren’t merely names on a page but powerful tools used with governments, the media, and courts to focus attention on injustice and create real-world change. Here's how:
First, we can directly and immediately alert individual Members of Congress and other government officials of the size and scope of the public support for our initiatives. Unlike, say, White House petitions – which at best generate a response from low-level staffers – our most successful petitions have generated direct White House, State Department, and congressional responses at the highest level.
Second, we alert members of the media and can help drive national news stories as petition signatures grow.
Third, petitions not only influence foreign governments, they can provide aid and comfort to persecuted people abroad.
Finally, you can directly participate in the most critical court battles of our time. Your signature - your voice - can be represented in briefs to the Supreme Court and to federal courts across America.
