Pakistan is one of the most pernicious persecutors of Christians ever.
Pakistani Christians are tortured, raped, and burned alive. Some – like Christian mother of five Asia Bibi – are falsely accused of blasphemy and sentenced to execution by hanging because of their faith.
Others face mob violence and governmental abuse and injustice.
Despite the increasing extremism, the Pakistani government persistently fails to protect Christians from violence or bring its perpetrators to justice. Even worse the government of Pakistan itself is one of the world’s worst jihadist persecutors of Christians.
This deadly barbarism – this monumental injustice – must end.
We’ve mobilized our offices on the ground in Pakistan, at the U.N., and on Capitol Hill to aggressively fight back. We are directly defending numerous Christians in Pakistani courts.
Save the lives of persecuted Christians before it’s too late. Take action with us.
We have told you about China’s continuous persecution of Christians and attacks on religious liberty. These attacks span from arbitrarily arresting pastors to surveilling churches and even implementing laws and regulations that essentially regulate what religious groups can and cannot say. Through...
Recently when a United Nations (U.N.) Special Rapporteur attempted to address the human rights violations being committed in Myanmar (Burma), rather than deny the claims, Myanmar attempted to flip the script and objected to being exposed. We’ve told you how we are currently working through our...
A Christian pastor and his wife are running for their lives after being arrested and SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS , among other Christian traditions. Iranian-Assyrian Christian Pastor Victor Bet-Tamraz, 66, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and his wife Shamiram Issavi, 65, was...
If you’re a Christian, you must be guilty. That seems to be the prevailing belief throughout Pakistan. As a result, Christians in the predominantly Muslim country face barbaric injustice and abuse – even death – under its archaic blasphemy laws, even when there isn’t a scrap of evidence against...
ACLJ petitions aren’t merely names on a page but powerful tools used with governments, the media, and courts to focus attention on injustice and create real-world change. Here's how:
First, we can directly and immediately alert individual Members of Congress and other government officials of the size and scope of the public support for our initiatives. Unlike, say, White House petitions – which at best generate a response from low-level staffers – our most successful petitions have generated direct White House, State Department, and congressional responses at the highest level.
Second, we alert members of the media and can help drive national news stories as petition signatures grow.
Third, petitions not only influence foreign governments, they can provide aid and comfort to persecuted people abroad.
Finally, you can directly participate in the most critical court battles of our time. Your signature - your voice - can be represented in briefs to the Supreme Court and to federal courts across America.
