Ben and Jerry’s ice cream company has not shied away when it comes to involving itself in the political arena. In the latest example, Ben and Jerry’s independent board of directors released a statement indicating they would no longer sell products in what they call “the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT).”

Realize that this includes East Jerusalem and other key parts of sovereign Israeli territory. So we know exactly what this is – a direct attack on Israel and the Jewish people.

The parent company of Ben and Jerry’s, Unilever, stands by Ben and Jerry’s announcement. Unilever is a massive company that owns numerous different brands throughout the world. Both the multinational corporation and their subsidiaries need to be held accountable for the antisemitic actions they have displayed with this announcement.

Antisemitism has to stop. There is no place for antisemitism anywhere in the United States and especially not in corporate America. The ACLJ is looking at the legal ramifications and ways to combat this latest example of antisemitism. This is only the beginning of this fight.
